Oxygenates the drinking water of livestock
Oxygenated drinking water increases production, increases herd health, development and reduces ammonia and methane emissions
IN ORDER TO FUNCTION PROPERLY THE RUMEN REQUIRES A SMALL AMOUNT OF OXYGEN:
Most water that is provided to dairy cows is oxygen poor. That means that the drinking water doesn’t contain enough oxygen to be of benefit to the cow, resulting in the rumen not working optimally: A considerable proportion of the rumen bacteria consists of obligate anaerobe which are mainly Gram-negative. Facultative anaerobes, which represent a small amount of the bacterial population, are essential to maintain the rumen environment in absolutely anaerobe conditions by consuming oxygen arisen from feed and water intake. Those bacteria require a small amount of oxygen to maintain their vitality and make the rumen function optimally. Insufficient oxygen creates a negative environment in the rumen and allows Gram-positive rumen bacteria, methanogenic archaea with greater methane production capacities compared to the other species, hyper-ammonia producing bacteria that produce ammonia 20 folds faster than the other species, and lactic acid producers (12). Gram-positive bacteria also produce butyrate, acetate, lactate, format, and hydrogen, whereas Gram-negative bacteria produce propionate and succinate, which are much more suitable for ruminants[1]!

DAIRY COWS: THE BENEFITS FROM OXYGENATING DRINKING WATER WITH METO2
-
Increased milk production of ±2 - 6 Litre per cow per day. It was also noticed that if the farmer stopped using MetO2 in the drinking water, milk production would immediately decrease and return to previous level.
-
Increase in water uptake by cows that were under- producing. E.g.: a cow producing an extra 6L milk per day drank an extra 15-20 L of water per day. Increases of this order only occurred where water and nutrient quality was initially poor.
-
Increase in milk fat % of ±0.5 - 1%
-
Decrease in milk urea% [1] . Research suggests that milk urea levels are directly linked to ammonia emission by cows. Therefore the lower the milk urea % the less ammonia a cow produces.
-
Lower ammonia emissions from the cow manure production
-
Lower somatic cell count. This leads to a significant decrease in instances of mastitis
-
Improved general health of cow.
-
Dosing colostrum with MetO2 significantly prevents calves from getting colic, pneumonia or other illness as it helps to rapidly boost the immune system. Calves afflicted with colic all made a 100% recovery withing 24 hours.
